I tend to bake on whims, by inspiration, and cravings. People always ask me where I find my recipes, etc... However, most are my own-- including this one. I experiment all the time. I'm also a perfectionist, so if I bake something and don't feel it's perfect (or close enough), it won't end up on here. My husband will probably end up eating it. I know, I know... he complains about it all the time (note my sarcasm)!
The cupcake is a mixture of chocolate and vanilla, swirled together with crumbled
Oreo's baked in. If you look carefully in both pictures, you can still see the vanilla swirl in the cupcakes. The icing is a unique blend of a couple different kinds of my homemade frosting, with crumbled
Oreo's blended in. The icing really tastes like an
Oreo, or cookies 'n cream ice cream... both of which are on the top of my list of favorites! If you enjoy either one of these, then you'll love these cupcakes!
